We want a more active, just, and supportive society. And to achieve this, we believe in raising awareness and empowering people through education on human rights, migration, and global justice. It’s the only way to generate awareness and create lasting change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, we promote dialogue and critical thinking as essential tools for reflecting on the reality of migration, combating injustice, and breaking down prejudices and inequalities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Educational Project<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After more than six years of working with our educational project “Education for Freedom”<\/strong> in primary and secondary schools and universities, we have observed a growing distance among younger generations from the reality that surrounds them.This isolation is exacerbated by the impact of social media, where hate speech against those who are different<\/strong> is gaining ground and misinformation is becoming a key factor in the perception of social problems. Added to this is the worrying normalization of campaigns that attack the most vulnerable<\/strong>, generating a permanent state of alarm.At this crucial moment, it is essential to join forces to defend the dignity and rights of all people, without distinction.From our experience in classrooms and onboard our ships<\/strong>, we believe in transforming the school environment as a key space for change. We are committed to an education that engages the entire educational community\u2014families, teachers, students, and society\u2014fostering critical thinking, dialogue, and active participation<\/strong>. We want these spaces to become beacons of social transformation.From September 2015 to 2024, we have reflected and engaged in dialogue with more than 186,470 students and adults, in more than 3,530 educational centers in different parts of the world (Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, Malta, Ireland, Norway and the United Kingdom, among others). All of this with the aim of creating, through education, a society that is critical of inequalities and fights for a world in which entities like ours do not have to exist.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How we do it<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Based on our experience at sea and onboard testimonies, we carried out a classroom project that facilitates the development of strategies for putting ourselves in other people’s shoes. It involves visiting schools to give talks about our work and the current situation.<\/strong> These talks are tailored to each educational level, from age 3 through university, and even for an adult audience.With our methodology, we focus on empathy, human rights, and, above all, we encourage critical thinking.<\/strong> The dynamic will be based on a presentation, combining videos and images, so we only need access to a projector with sound. Depending on the age group, the talks will last between 45 minutes and an hour and a quarter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
