The European COMET project is developed between organizations from several countries, with the aim of bring people in situations of extreme vulnerability to safety and provide them with shelter and protection in Italy.
Within this project, we have managed to create a humanitarian corridor between Niamey (Niger) and Italy to evacuate 148 refugees from countries in the region such as Nigeria, Mali and Cameroon on two flights. For those fleeing conflict, war or famine, this is the safe alternative to the largest mass grave in the world: the Mediterranean.
