Origin Program

Irregular migration is a complex issue in the communities of origin that mixes elements such as poverty, family pressure or the mirage of The Golden European. However, often the journey begins ignoring the real dangers of the journey. There is also a great lack of awareness about the difficulties of integration in Europe and the living conditions that undocumented immigrants face.

The main objectives of the #Origen program are:Provide accurate information on migration, Promote digital training and encourage the creation of local and national work networks, thus transforming the collective imagination.

Unsafe migration routes

The closure of European borders and the (almost) disappearance of any regular option for travelling to Europe have meant that people fleeing conflict, natural disasters, poverty and violence in their countries have found themselves on unsafe routes, becoming once again vulnerable victims of all kinds of abuse and facing total lack of protection.

The dangers of sea voyages

Here are some facts that migrants don’t know:

More than 44,764 deaths
of people trying to reach Europe, most of them drowning in the Mediterranean since 1993.

Icon Drown

1 in 21 people dies
trying to cross the central Mediterranean.

Only 1 in 20
asylum seekers receive protection in Spain.

Thousands of people live in an irregular situation
with difficulty accessing basic services and suffering discrimination and stigma.

90% of people have
suffered violence
(sexual, psychological, physical).

Entire families ruined
because of the mafias that monopolize the road.
