CONTEXT

In 2024 and 2025, the conflict escalated drastically with direct attacks between Iran and Israel, marking a new turning point in the region.
EVOLUTION
- In mid-2025, Israel launched airstrikes on strategic targets inside Iranian territory, including nuclear facilities and military bases.
- Iran responded with a missile and drone offensive, targeting both Israel and international interests in the region.
- The hostilities have caused hundreds of deaths, internal displacement, and an increasing crackdown by the Iranian government on dissenting voices.
- The tension has also affected neighboring countries and further worsened the humanitarian situation in places like Gaza, Syria, and Yemen.
